We are seeking an Assistant Manager for our operations in Minnesota, centered in Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This position is open to internal and external candidates.

ABOUT THE JOB:

This part-time, hourly position is designed to include both teaching duties and admin duties, and is perfect for someone looking to grow an area and develop their professional skills in marketing and operations. Currently this position calls for 5-10 admin hours/week in addition to teaching hours.

Job requires consistent weekly availability and flexibility to meet needs of the area. The Assistant Area Manager duties include instructing our programs, and assorted admin / management responsibilities in marketing, operations, training/eval of staff, recruiting, and materials management. Weekly duties may include:

  • Teaching (5-days per week preferred)
  • Birthday and community event coordinating
  • Background check coordination
  • Kit maintenance/management/transfer logistics
  • Client/Area Info data management
  • Enrollment updates and roster management
  • Recruiting events and introductory interviews
  • Marketing: Event coordination, flyer creation and delivery
  • Email blasts
  • Email database management
  • In-Class Evaluations of Instructors
  • Competitor analysis
  • Lead generation
  • Seasonal duties as assigned
  • Link/brochure checks

ABOUT THE AREA:

The Twin Cities are a newer area for our programs but growing and this area has successfully transitioned from summer camps only to year-round programming. That being said, there is still plenty of room for growth, particularly with our school-year and enrichment programming.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE:

The successful candidate must live in the Twin Cities area, have strong instructional skills, and must be ready to hit the ground running and begin taking on tasks quickly.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • A history of exceptional instructing with Play-Well or demonstrated experience in classroom teaching, summer camp counselor, and/or after school programming outside Play-Well
  • Strong work ethic, be able to set and achieve goals
  • Ability to solve problems independently and keep track of ongoing projects
  • Professional communication skills (phone, email and in-person)
  • High standards of organization, task documentation and detail orientation
  • Comfort giving/receiving feedback
  • High capacity to learn and grow in the position

Requirements:

  • Work independently from a home office and be self-motivated
  • Work remotely and communicate effectively with senior managers online via video, by phone, as well as in-person as needed
  • Strong, professional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Owns reliable vehicle to transport Play-Well teaching kit and willing to drive required distances to organize, promote, teach classes, evaluate staff
  • Has a valid Driver License and current car insurance
  • Travel to classes throughout the area; travel statewide as necessary
  • Secure place to store and maintain LEGO┬« teaching kits
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs to store and stock materials; bending, stooping and crawling with children during class instruction
  • Proficient in using Google docs, Word Processing applications (using Pages or Word), and Spreadsheets (using Excel or Numbers)
  • Data entry and database management
  • Ability to learn and comprehend all internal IT systems
  • Maintain a clear background check

COMPENSATION:

This part-time job starts with 5-10 hours of admin responsibility plus 8-15 hours of teaching per week. There is room for the manager responsibilities to grow as the area grows.

  • Hourly wage will align with Play-Well pay policy, range: $18.50-23.50
  • Laptop will be provided
  • Phone or phone allowance may be provided (should tasks require it)
